Nottingham Korfball Club (NKC) was founded in August 1993 by a group of friends from the University of Nottingham. During their first season, they trained at the university’s Sutton Bonington Campus, under the guidance of Stella Hooker. Nottingham drew their first National League match in November to Kingfishers 2. The team on that famous day was:

Boys : Allan Burrows, Andy Dowding, Mike Rowley & Derek Shaw
Girls : Emma Sherratt, Jackie Hoare, Anna Tester, Sarah Couzens, Kathy Shaw & Lorraine Grandison.

The club has gone from strength to strength over the years, with many successes on the National League stage, and filtering a lot of talent overseas with many NKC players representing England Korfball.

Now with three senior teams: a First Team currently competing in Central England Regional League 2, the Second Team in East Midlands Korfball League 1 and our Third Team in East Midlands Korfball League 2, NKC is again on the rise and is the club to watch out for in the East Midlands.

NKC also boasts the only junior korfball club in the Midlands, the Nottingham Falcons, who engage ages 6-15 on a weekly basis.

Feel free to drop us a message to find out more about our wonderful club and how to get involved.
