MATCH REPORTER: ANDY REDFERN
The evening started off promisingly, captain Alex Wright had the team warming up 20 minutes before the game. Again Alex used his excellent Captaincy splitting the divisions down with a mixture of experienced players and new players to create two very balanced divisions.
The game felt quite close through the first half with both teams producing scoring chances. Both Nottingham ’s divisions showed good passing with good use of 4-zero in evidence and good recycling of the ball. There were very few shots going up when there were no collects or while been defended which showed the excellent training the team has been enjoying this year is really paying off.
Nottingham led the game; however Leicester played exceedingly well pushing Nottingham ’s defense all the way. The beginning of the second half showed increased pressure from Leicester following Matt’s half time talk no doubt, but Nottingham were equal to the challenge. The game finished 9-2.
Also good to see Old Nottingham players Matt and Ruth in a much improved Leicester side.
